Stuart G. “Stu” Weinroth brings more than 30 years of experience across the full commercial aviation asset lifecycle to his role as Chief Executive Officer of Contrail Aviation Support, LLC. Over the course of his career, Weinroth has sat on nearly every side of the industry — as an airline operator, an aircraft and engine lessor, and a supplier to airlines and MROs — giving him a rare, end-to-end view of how aircraft and engines move from new, to mid-life, to teardown and parts.

Weinroth joins Contrail from Air Transport Services Group, Inc. (ATSG), where he served as Global Head of Commercial Operations and Acquisitions, leading a major expansion of ATSG’s freighter and engine portfolio and directing the company’s acquisition, leasing, and disposition strategy.

Prior to ATSG, Weinroth was Chief Investment Officer at Metolius Aviation Capital, and also held vice president roles at GA Telesis, where he helped launch new engine trading and inventory leasing platforms. He founded his own advisory firm, Aero Finance Solutions, arranging aircraft lease transactions and originating aviation assets at strong, double-digit returns for airline and institutional clients. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Investment Officer of GMT Global Republic Aviation in Dublin, Ireland, where he built and managed a sizable aviation asset portfolio delivering strong pre-leverage returns.

Weinroth’s financial leadership experience also includes service as interim Chief Financial Officer of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, as well as earlier roles at United Airlines and Chicago’s Department of Aviation, where he managed operating and capital budgets for O’Hare and Midway International Airports.

Weinroth holds a Master of Business Administration from the Daniels School of Business at the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago.
